Minutes of EDIA General Meeting of April 22, 2008

1. Treasury Report. No change from March.

2. Ingleside Police Report. Shooting at Burger King on Mission. Information update on double homicide that occurred in March at Athens and Excelsior. Likely gang affiliation of perpetrators. Innocent victims. Arrests imminent according to homicide inspector.

3. SFMTA TEP draft Proposed Transit Network in District 11. Presentation by Peter Strauss. Many recommendations, pending community workshops, input and comments sought. See website, http://www.step.com No action at this time by EDIA. Consider letter at future time.

4. Report on developments concerning St. Luke's, Blue Ribbon Panel, local input, etc. Hospital likely to remain open but ongoing issues as to in what precise form.

5. Motion made and carried without opposition to contribute $ 150. to Neighborhood Parks Council (fiscal sponsor) to be used by F.A.C.E. to reimburse advances and cover costs incurred on behalf of the Crocker Amazon Playground tile project, not covered by city grant.

6. Nominations for various offices, board, and trustees of EDIA. Elections to be held in May. Jackie as President, Patty as 1st Vice President, John C. as Sergent-at- Arms, Paige as Board Member (3 year Seat), Linda as Trustee and Jean as Trustee, and Katherine C. as new Trustee. Elections to be held in May.

7. Announcements. Moratorium enacted on new liquor stores, smoke shops and check-cashing stores on Mission. Next Executive Bd. meeting on Tuesday, April 29, 6:30 at Taqueria Menudo on Mission (just north of Excelsior).Book club meeting, Neighborhood Arts Festival, Sup. Ammiano's proposed formula retail ordinance.

8. John Avalos, candidate for Supervisor in District 11 introduced himself.
