Minutes of regular EDIA membership meeting, January 26 2010
1. Treasury Report, Balance $3100. approximately.
2. Police report. Fatal officer involved shooting on Maynard-alleged "suicide by cop". Fatality was 65 year old Vietnam vet. Meeting with chief, Capt. Lazar and sup. Avalos on 1/28 at 5:30 at Teen Center. Discussion re: unlicensed fruit vendors, problem street lighting and assaults/thefts by groups of men late at night. 3. Arrest made for defacing Santa Rosa/Mission mural. Motion unanimously passed to write D.A,'s office emphasizing gravity and cost of offense to neighborhood and requesting opportunity and notice to neighborhood of proceedings.
4. Presentation by neighborhood N.E.R.T. leaders.
5. Discussion of Jan. 14 meeting with SFMTA, convened by Supervisor Avalos. Interest in possible parking "summit" for neighborhood.
6. Presentation by "Ring of Fire" neighborhood youth boxing club. Require more space, interested in building structure in Crocker Amazon. Welcomes input, advice about other possible venues. Recommendations provided.
7. CSFN. Discussion about renewing membership for 2010 and providing snacks for next meeting. Two members volunteered to attend upcoming meetings. Motion passed to renew membership ($45.) and authorize board to spend up to $50. for food for Feb. 18 meeting.
8. Various announcements.
9. Motion made and passed to authorize board to donate up to $146. to Precita Eyes muralists to purchase clear coat finish for installation on new Mission/SantaRosa mural at Central Drug.
