Minutes of Excelsior District Improvement Association Meeting,
January 25th, 2011

Meeting called to order at 7:06pm by President Jackie Cash

Pledge to Flag led by Sergeant at Arms John Consiglieri

Police Report by Captain L. Cassenago, outlined stats in Excelsior and reviewed the year 2010. Sgt. Rainsford and Sgt. Riskin were also present.

State Senator Leland Yee was guest speaker. He touched on the various budget matters that the State Senate is faced with in the new fiscal year. He hinted that many projects would not be funded and the shifting of functions back to the city. He expressed his desire to return at a later time to give further clarification.

Treasurer's Report: $2, 642.82 in account. A check in the amount of $10 to District 11 Council to cover 2011 fees.

A short review of recent DCYA assessment needs meeting held at YMCA was given.
Robert Katz had asked for info showing what portion is serving the Excelsior from the DCYA.

Parking Committee gave an overview of what actions have taken place: petitioning the neighbors on Madrid and Edinburgh, when 50+1 signatures are arrived at, then the petition will be forwarded to MTA.

It was brought to Captain Cassenago's attention that an 'illegal' flea market was operating in front of the empty store front (Arcos Shoes) on Mission at Excelsior.

EDIA By-Laws to be revised. First reading to be at the next meeting. A second reading the following meeting, then the membership will be asked to vote.

Representative to CSFN, Angelic, reported on recent agenda items: relocation of recycling center out of Golden Gate Park; Parkmerced 30 year plan to eliminate two story buildings and replace them with high rise units offering more housing.
